SUMMER SERVICE CAMP

Our Summer Service camp offers an opportunity for kids in Charlottesville to help feed their homebound neighbors. For one week in July, campers join the Meals on Wheels staff and volunteers to deliver meals, help prepare gifts for our clients, and learn more about those in need in our community.

SANTA PICTURE EVENT

Our Santa Picture event was a great success in 2018! Partnering with Cardinal Point Winery, the afternoon was filled with cookie decorating, Santa letter writing, live music and the kind of magic only Santa and kids can bring.

Day of Caring

The Day of Caring is an annual event through the Thomas Jefferson Area United Way that promotes the spirit and value of volunteerism, increases the awareness of local human service agencies and schools, and demonstrates what people working together for the community's good can accomplish.  Each year, groups from local business and organizations spend a day with us, helping to deliver meals and assisting with other projects. For more information, contact our Volunteer Manager at (434) 293-4364.

Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon

Each Spring we host a luncheon to thank our dedicated volunteers. We give awards to volunteers who go above and beyond typical duties and acknowledge volunteers who have served our organization for at least five years.

Scottsville Fish Fry

Every year, residents of Scottsville hold a fish fry to benefit Meals on Wheels of Charlottesville/Albemarle. The dinner, which is held at a local church, raises thousands of dollars to support the important work of MOW. Plus, the fish is fantastic!
