These elves, both regular volunteers and first-timers joining us for Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, took time out of their own holidays to help bring Christmas to others!
Together, we organized gifts for our clients (generously donated by organizations around Charlottesville and coordinated by our friends at Home Instead) and delivered them along with our regularly scheduled meal deliveries.
Many of our holiday volunteers brought their families along to join them in bringing comfort and joy to their homebound neighbors throughout Albemarle County. Tamar Goodale shared with us that her 6-year-old son had told her that his favorite part of Christmas was not the presents, but driving around town delivering food to people. We think Tiny Tim, not to mention Santa Claus, would agree!
Seeing all these smiling faces around the holidays certainly made spirits bright here at the Meals on Wheels office. Our sincere thank you to all who helped us in our efforts to spread the joy of Christmas to every one of our clients, and best wishes for a Happy New Year!
