On Tuesday, January 31st, 2012 Meals on Wheels celebrated a milestone achievement. We delivered our one millionth meal right here within our very own community! And, we couldn't have done it without you.
The millionth meal was delivered by Ann Shaffer, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels since the organization was established in 1977. Meals on Wheels board members, staff, and volunteers were available for comment and to answer questions. Light refreshments were served, and media personnel from Channel 29, the Newsplex and the Daily Progress were invited to follow Ann and cover the delivery of this very special meal.
We are so grateful to the community for making this milestone possible. Without the support of you - our volunteers and donors - we couldn't have reached this milestone.
